HBO Max's March slate is anchored by two very different kinds of ambition. The Pitt arrives as one of the year's most formally interesting dramas -- a medical series set in a Pittsburgh hospital that unfolds in real time over a single shift, led by Noah Wyle. Alongside it, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms adapts George R.R. Martin's beloved Dunk and Egg novellas, bringing the warmest, most human stories in the Westeros universe to the screen nearly a century before Game of Thrones.
On the film side, The Substance -- Demi Moore's Cannes Best Screenplay-winning body horror film -- makes its way to the platform alongside Materialists, a sharp romantic drama about class and desire, and Ne Zha 2, the record-breaking Chinese animated sequel. The returning drama Industry continues its unflinching portrait of London finance, while the documentary Mel Brooks: The 99 Year Old Man! offers a once-in-a-lifetime portrait of one of comedy's great minds.
Murder in Glitterball City rounds out the documentary slate with the kind of atmospheric true crime storytelling that Max does consistently well. This is a month where the best picks reward both casual viewers and those with serious taste -- there is something here for every kind of watching.
